About the city
Evian-les-Bains or Evian is a town in the northern part of the Haute-Savoie department in France, on the shores of Lake Geneva, opposite Lausanne, Switzerland. It has a population of about 7,300 people.
Evian is home to the new Hilton Evian-les-Bains. This new development adds value to the shores of the small town and attracts more tourism.
The town is also home to Evian Mineral water, which makes up the foundation of the economy together with the Casino d’Evian, largest themed casino in Europe, and the Evian Royal Resort, favorite haunt of former French President François Mitterand. Bottled Evian is considered useful in everything from baby formula to salt-free diets and is seen as a treatment for gout and arthritis.
